Bromyard Bowmen is one of three Archery GB affiliated archery clubs in Herefordshire.   We are very fortunate to have a dedicated indoor shooting hall which is quite useful with our British climate! It also means that our Beginners Courses can take place throughout the year regardless of the weather conditions!  The shooting hall is centrally heated with (almost) endless supplies of coffee!

Joining the club

Before you can join Bromyard Bowmen you must first complete a beginners course.  Our courses are usually conducted over three consecutive Saturday mornings in our indoor shooting hall. Successful completion of the beginners course will allow you to formally join the club and take part in tournaments and practice sessions.  With a minimum age of 8 years we actively encourage and coach juniors to join in our activities!

About the club

With a wide spectrum of ages, Bromyard Bowmen has a large membership spanning archers from eight to eighty years old. Our members shoot a mixture of bow styles including Recurve, Compound and Longbow both recreationally and competitively.  Junior members are encouraged to participate in the EAF Rose Awards and Archery GB Junior Award Schemes.

Our qualified coaches

We have an number of very experiences and fully qualified coaches who offer regular coaching sessions and video analysis if you are really keen! For those interested in competing,  you can enter tournaments which are held regularly in the area.  Our members also enjoy participating in other fun events such as Clout Shoots, Inter-club tournaments, Christmas shoots, BBQ’s and other social events.

We shoot at the Clive Richards Sports Ground on the Tenbury Road just out of Bromyard, Herefordshire. We shoot outdoors on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm and Sunday from 2pm during the Summer Season (May-September). We shoot in our indoor shooting hall during the Winter Season. Our purpose built shooting hall was constructed in 2001 by our members. The wheelchair accessible hall is permanently setup with foam targets. It is well lit and has a full width foam backstop wall. It supports ten shooting positions at distances up to 25m.  Along with this is a meeting area, equipment bench and tea/coffee making facilities (did I mention it is centrally heated 80).

Please contact us if you have any questions.  We genuinely look forward to hearing from you and will do all we can to help.
